Courthouse

The first two Hancock County courthouse buildings were constructed in the town of Concord, which no longer exists. In the 1890s, there was a dispute between constructing a new courthouse building in Britt or Garner. Garner ultimately won out, and the current courthouse facility was completed in 1899. It still serves the County today, with many of Hancock County’s government offices located at the Courthouse, at 855 State St. in Garner.
