Iowa Individual Assistance Program

Iowa Individual Disaster Assistance Grant Program (IIAGP)
Hancock County was included in the Governor’s disaster proclamation. One of the programs this opens up is the Iowa Individual Assistance Program. Under this program eligible residents may qualify for up to $7,000 for related expenses from the disaster.
The qualifications for eligibility are as follows:
- Annual household income is at or less than 200% of the Federal Poverty level:
- Family Size: 1
- 200%: $31,300
- Family Size: 2
- 200%: $42,300
- Family Size: 3
- 200%: $53,300
- Family Size: 4
- 200%: $64,300
- Family Size: 5
- 200%: $75,300
- Family Size: 6
- 200%: $86,300
- Family Size: 7
- 200%: $97,300
- Family Size: 8
- 200%: $108,300
- Add for each person over 8
- 200%: $11,000
- Family Size: 1
- Household members are citizens or legally residing in the United States
- The household’s primary and occupied residences is in the county indicated in the disaster proclamation
- The household has disaster related needs not fully covered by insurance and not met by another assistance program.
There are four categories for eligible disaster-related needs:
- Temporary Housing
- Food Assistance
- Personal Property
- Home Repair
Anyone who may be eligible should contact North Iowa Community Action Organization in Mason City to start their application process and assist them with questions, etc. They can be reached at 641-423-8993.
